Calculate The Flow Rate Of Air Using Our Calculator And Get An Accurate Measurement Of Your Volumetric Flow Rate
What Is Flow Rate?
Why Is A Flow Rate Calculator Useful?
Calculating the volumetric flow rate of air requires complicated calculations, which can be made easier with a flow rate calculator. And using our calculator can help you do the job in just a few seconds.Â
With our flow rate calculator, you can enter the diameter and velocity in your desired unit or the volume and time to get an accurate reading of your air’s volumetric flow rate.Â
Bonus: If you have a rectangular-shaped valve, you can also easily calculate your air’s flow rate with our free calculator!Â
How Do You Calculate Flow Rate?
Our Flow Rate Calculator can help you calculate your air’s volumetric flow rate in just a few seconds in 12 preferred units. All you need to know is either the diameter of your pipes and the velocity of the air pressure or the volume of the air and the time it takes to pass through the pipe. And in case you have a rectangular valve, you just need to know the width and height of it, along with the velocity of the air pressure.Â
Let’s study each one’s calculation procedure.Â
Case 1: Diameter And VelocityÂ
This is when you have only the diameter of your valve or faucet and the velocity of the air pressure inside it.Â
You can input the diameter in 6 different units: inches, feet, yards, millimeters, centimeters, and meters.
Similarly, you can input the velocity in feet/second or meters/second.
The formula for calculating the flow rate with the given parameters is:Â
(Diameter/2)^2Â X Velocity
The result will be displayed in 12 different units, whichever is applicable for your ease.Â
Case 2: Volume And Time
This is when you have the volume of the air passing through the pipe or faucet and the time it takes to pass.Â
You can input the volume in 8 units: fluid ounces, quarts, pints, gallons, milliliters, liters, cubic inches, and cubic feet.
Similarly, you can input the time in seconds, minutes, hours, or days.
The formula for calculating the flow rate with the given parameters would be:Â
Velocity (in cubic meters) / time (in seconds)
Case 3: Rectangular Valve
This is when your valve or faucet is rectangular. To calculate the flow rate from these, all you need is the valve’s width and height.Â
You can input your width and height in your preferred units. We provide five: inches, feet, yards, millimeters, centimeters, and meters.Â
You can input the time in feet/seconds or meter/second.Â
The formula for calculating the flow rate of your rectangular valve:Â
Width X Height X Velocity
